Vision Street Wear x Ewokone Summer 2014 Capsule Launch (NYC)

Vision Street Wear rolled out a collaborative capsule earlier this month with graff legend Ewokone for Summer 2014. To celebrate, the brand held launch event at WallPlay Gallery in the Lower East Side (NYC), where artwork and the collection were on display for familiar faces from the worlds of skate, graff and street wear.

During the event, we caught up with VSW brand manager Mark Encinias, who told us about how the collaboration with Ewokone came together, a little about Vision’s heritage and a the future.

Flying High in Trapeze School with Dove Men+Care

Last week, Dove Men+Care invited us up to NYC for a fun and unique class at The Trapeze School of New York, where we did some flying trapeze and trampoline instruction.

The event was setup to help bring to life their #FaceTorture campaign, which highlight’s Dove Men+Care’s Face Wash, since a gentle cleanser is a must after working up a sweat.

It was a really exhilarating experience, and one that I’d recommend to anyone looking for an adrenaline rush!

Going “Further With Ford” At Annual Trend Conference

 In late June, we attended the 2014 Ford Trend Conference in Detroit, Mich., dubbed Further With Ford.  Sustainability, Design, Technology and Innovation were the key trends during the fourth annual event, where we had the chance to go behind the scenes for an exclusive look at Ford design studios, labs, and test track.  This year the conference included key trending sessions such as Female Frontier, Sustainability Blues, Decoding Design and What’s The Big Deal with Big Data? So, we went “Inside the Oval” to find out Ford’s latest innovations in design and technology.  Take a look at our experience to see what is trending for Ford’s future.

Yankees’ David Robertson, Westin Hotels Celebrate National Running Day

Westin Hotels teamed up with New York Yankees pitcher David Robertson earlier this month to celebrate National Running Day as part of their year-long Westin Well-being Movement program.  He helped kick off a 5k run for Westin associates and participating guests, and also shed light on his charitable endeavor, High Socks for Hope, a nonprofit corporation to help those affected by tornadoes, hurricanes and other natural disasters.  We were on-hand to take in the experience, speaking with Westin officials and Robertson about the activities.

Following her stint in Las Vegas, Coco officially kicked off her off-Broadway burlesque show in NYC last month, dubbed Coco & The Vanity Vixens.

Created and directed by renowned dance choreographer Kellen Stancil, the show features a total of six lead dancers and four ensemble members with Coco as the focus, and aims to reinvent the art of seduction through dance of many styles.

We caught up with Coco, Ice-T and others before the show to discuss expectations, the costumes, and the excitement of doing her first show since her run in Vegas.

The New Heights Basketball Program hosted its inaugural Team Challenge Shoot-A-Thon on May 10th at the Harlem PAL and the Dunlevy Milbank Center. 
All proceeds funds New Heights’ signature year-round integrated youth-development program College Bound and the 2014 basketball season.
During this event every student-athlete shot 1,000 free throws. Sponsors were asked to pledge an increment of money for every made free throw.

Under Armour’s NYC Brand House Grand Opening

Sports brand Under Armour opened its retail brand experience in New York City in late April, called the Under Armour NYC Brand House.

Located in the city’s SOHO fashion district, we were invited to the grand opening to celebrate the launch, where we toured of the space, viewed Under Armour’s latest innovations, and also spoke with CEO Kevin Plank, as well as NFL players like Giants’ Jason Pierre-Paul, and the Jets’ Muhammad Wilkerson and others.
